notes on my iphone 6 wont sync with mac mini

Ok so I have a mac mini for my work and an Iphone 6 which up until last week would sync notes with each other no problem

now when i check on my icloud I can see all notes on my phone but these are no longer showing on my mac mini - ive checked that ICloud is set as the default account on both devices and all is fine but I cant for the life of me get my notes on my phone to show on my screen - can anybody help

Try going to System Preferences/iCloud and stop syncing. Wait a couple of minutes, then recheck syncing.

Have you tried signing out of iCloud and then sign back in?

If you are using IOS 9.X and in Notes you selected to upgrade iCloud, the application will not sync unless you install El Capitan and upgrade iCloud Notes.
